Introducing Founders

Shilpi batra adwani

Shilpi Batra Adwani is an award winning independent filmmaker, educator and ​creative business entrepreneur with over 15 years of International experience ​mass media project management. She worked on a BBC Pashto documentary ​project in London, on development projects closely worked with States ​Department, GIZ, UN and Afghanistan cricket board as a multi-media expert ​during her tenure with Sayara Internationals in Afghanistan for two years.

She co-founded The Open Space Society (a private educational and cultural ​institution dedicated to arts and media studies and a Multimedia Agency in ​Jaipur in 2017) along with her husband, business entrepreneur and photographer, ​Hitesh Adwani

Her research documentary project 'Sheenkhalai- The Blue Skin' about her Hindu-​Pashtun ancestors who migrated to Jaipur during Partition, is the only ​documented research across the world and is featured across national and ​international media houses.

Hitesh adwani

Textile businessman Hitesh Adwani's interest in nature, wildlife, and architecture ​drew him to photography, His interest turned into a passion to inspire people to ​pursue it as a tool for celebrating life and led him to co-found the Jaipur ​Photography Club (PC), which currently has over 40,000 members. Entirely self-​taught, Hitesh nurtures JPC by organizing weekly photo walks, workshops, and ​weekend excursions.

He is an empanelled mentor for FTII Photography workshops,TOSS Jaipur and ​has conducted national and international workshops for international ​organisations like Action Aide, India- Afghanistan foundation and UNFPA

Hitesh co-founded The Open Space Society with Shilpi and looks after entire ​photography and design department.
